Project 1
This is a personal assignment. DO NOT copy solutions from others.
Problem 1. reverse them all
You probably still remember Project 0 where everyone in this class submitted their extremely protected binaries. Now it is time to reverse them all!
For each binary in the tarball, you should debug it to find a flag that the binary accepts. The more binaries you can solve before the deadline, the higher score you will get!
Note that all binaries are solvable, but you may not have enough time to solve all of them before the deadline. Therefore, it is crucial for you to pick the easiest and start from those.
Academic Integrity
Discussing how to solve a challenge with its author(s) is strictly forbidden and considered an academic integrity violation. Collaboratively deciding with your classmates which challenges to solve is also forbidden and considered an academic integrity violation.
Grading
You get 6 points for every binary you solve (maximum 6 * 16 = 96). Additionally, you will get 4 points for solving each challenge with the least numbers of solves (capped at 4 challenges with the least number of solves).
Since this is no public scoreboard, you cannot know beforehand which six challenges will have the least number of solves.
Submission
You should submit a report that details which binaries you have solved, your flag for that binary, and how you solved that binary. There is no limit on the number of words or characters. Your report should be in plain text.
Please send your report to Audrey Dutcher [email protected]
before the deadline.
In your report, please include your name and ASU ID.
Deadline
Please submit your answers before 1670698799. Late submissions will not be accepted.
